Draft 2025-2026 Catalog
Public Health/Public Health, Community and Public Health Concentration (4+1), BS/MPH
Undergraduate Public Health students interested in pursuing a master’s degree are encouraged to consider the accelerated 4+1 BSPH-MPH program, in which they would earn their Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) and Master of Public Health (MPH) in five versus six years. This program will prepare students with highly marketable skills in demand by the public health workforce via a time- and cost-effective pathway. BSPH students with a minimum of 3.0 GPA are eligible to apply for the 4+1 program in fall of their junior year. The 4+1 curriculum allows for advanced undergraduates to complete MPH coursework concurrently with their undergraduate coursework beginning in spring of their junior year and through senior year. Upon completion of their Bachelor of Science in Public Health, students continue on as graduate students, taking MPH coursework in the summer of their 4th year and completing the MPH degree in their 5th year. Students complete required internships in both the BSPH and MPH programs, which will provide practical hands-on experience and opportunities to build their professional skills and networks.
