The Master of Public Health (MPH) Program prepares future public health practitioners with essential leadership and management skills necessary to navigate complex public health issues at the local, state, national, and global levels. Rooted in a commitment to community health, social justice, and care for the whole person, our interdisciplinary curriculum integrates rigorous academic coursework with hands-on applied learning experiences. Students develop a robust practice-based skillset to advance public health through innovative and evidence-based solutions working across sectors and with diverse communities. The School of Nursing and Health Professions is now accepting students into this program for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Program Learning Outcomes
Students graduating from the USF MPH Program will be able to: - Use data to describe and explain disease trends, understand social and structural determinants of health, and identify risk and protective factors for health and well-being
- Critically assess scientific literature and apply theory to research, plan, and evaluate evidence-based interventions to promote health equity and social and environmental justice
- Critique, develop, and advocate for policy recommendations considering ethics, social determinants of health, health system organization and structures, health care delivery, and financing
- Manage and lead teams, programs, and collaborations effectively with cultural awareness and humility
- Effectively communicate targeted public health messages to a variety of audiences using written, oral, and digital media
- Work in interprofessional settings to improve health through collective action, demonstrating respect, shared values, and appreciation of the roles of others
Major Requirements (42 units)
Students are required to complete 42 units to graduate. All courses require a B- grade or higher or a Satisfactory grade to count for credit. Public Health Core Courses
