The Business Analytics/Applied Economics 4+1 program provides an opportunity for Business Analytics students to complete a Master’s degree in Applied Economics in as little as one additional year, pushing their analytics and programming skills to the next level and complementing them with cutting-edge techniques from economics.

Admission
Students may join by submitting a change of academic program form, if they fulfill the following requirements: - Sophomore status
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Major GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Completion of 16 units of undergraduate coursework listed below. All courses must be completed with a grade of B or higher
Required Undergraduate Courses (16 units)
Students complete 16 units of the following coursework: Applied Economics Major Requirements (36 units)

After joining the 4+1 program, students may begin taking courses toward graduate program requirements. A total of up to 18 units of coursework taken while still in undergraduate status may be counted toward the graduate program requirements. All remaining units must be taken in the final year after transitioning to graduate status. Of the 18 units taken toward graduate requirements while in undergraduate status, up to 8 units can be double-counted toward both the BUAN major electives requirements and the graduate degree. In order for an undergraduate-level course (400 or below) to count toward the graduate degree, the student must receive a grade of A- or better. No more than 8 units of Economics coursework may be counted toward the Business degree. Courses eligible for double-counting as BUAN electives and toward MSAE Analytics requirements are: |
