The part-time Master in Management (MIM) program is an innovative graduate program for emerging leaders aiming to integrate impactful ethical decision-making with sustainable business strategies. This transformative 30-credit curriculum dives deep into how future leaders can leverage technology, financial insights, and sustainability to revolutionize business practices. With a strong emphasis on managerial and leadership competencies, the curriculum equips students with the skills to navigate the complex interplay of technology and sustainability in today’s dynamic business landscape.

 

Through engaging with a diverse range of organizations across sectors, from startups to established Fortune 500 companies, students tackle real-world sustainability challenges via project-based learning. This approach ensures the practical application of theoretical knowledge, enhancing skills in creating impactful, sustainable solutions. The program offers a holistic educational experience, integrating personalized curriculum paths and extensive experiential learning opportunities, all aimed at launching students into impactful careers.

 

Sustainable Social Impact Concentration

The Sustainable Social Impact concentration is designed for socially-conscious managers and leaders committed to making a significant social impact through innovative solutions. Tailored for those destined to spearhead transformation within social enterprises, B-Corps, not-for-profits, and NGOs, this concentration arms participants with cutting-edge knowledge and tools essential for tackling global challenges through a lens of sustainability. The program’s pinnacle is a capstone project, a unique opportunity for students to bring their learning to life by devising and executing sustainable solutions to real-world community and global issues. This critical undertaking not only demonstrates their mastery but also paves the way for a career deeply rooted in making a tangible difference in the world of sustainability and social impact.

Program Learning Outcomes


Graduates of the USF MIM program will be able to:

Sustainable Business Solutions Core Courses

Demonstrate critical analytical capacity in sustainability values, principles, and mindsets.

Graduates will integrate technical and analytical skills in business, management, and finance, focusing on implementing sustainability strategies and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. This outcome emphasizes the application of advanced business acumen and data-driven decision-making in developing and managing sustainable business enterprises.


Sustainable Social Impact Concentration

Demonstrate interdisciplinary managerial competencies for organizational applications.

Graduates will acquire specialized knowledge and skills in creating, measuring, and enhancing social impact through organizational solutions and business initiatives. They will be adept at designing and implementing projects and strategies that address social challenges, leveraging business tools for social entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and public-private partnerships. This includes a deep understanding of how to balance profitability with social goals and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.


Design-Thinking and Capstone Project Solution

Demonstrate professional capacity to ideate, design, and prototype innovative and systemic solutions.

Graduates will master applying design thinking methodologies to real-world business challenges in their capstone projects. They will showcase the ability to lead and execute a comprehensive project integrating cross-functional knowledge, innovative problem-solving, and strategic planning. This includes the capacity to understand customer needs, ideate creative solutions, prototype, test, and iterate to develop impactful business solutions.
