Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: College of Arts and Sciences

The Minor in Architectural Engineering provides an interdisciplinary overview of engineering topics associated with building design and the study and practice of engineering. The Minor consists of technically challenging courses that rely on a series of prerequisites, as well as experiment-based and skill-development courses that can be taken without prerequisites.

Program Learning Outcomes

Students will:

  • Develop and demonstrate knowledge of foundational physics and math skills to apply to techniques of engineering design and engineering science
  • Demonstrate a basic physical intuition for engineering concepts by incorporating engineering as an integral part of the design process
  • Work with local and international communities to design solutions which best serve the needs of a partnering community
  • Gain knowledge of and exposure to design and engineering decisions creating positive change in the environment, both socially and ecologically

Minor Requirements (24 units)

Students require a minimum GPA of “C” (2.0) to be awarded a Minor, which is then reflected in their transcripts.

Optional Elective

The 1-unit Art + Architecture lecture series does not count towards program requirements.
