The McLaren School of Management offers four minors for students in non-business majors.
The minors are reflected on students’ transcripts, and require a letter grade and a minimum GPA of 2.0 in the minor. Students interested in a Business minor should consult with their adviser to declare the minor and to review the specific course requirements and necessary prerequisites for the courses.
The Business Analytics Minor develops the knowledge and skills in demand that are required for data-driven solutions to today’s business problems and decisions.

Program Learning Outcomes
Students in the Business Analytics Minor will develop the capacity to:
- Integrate information technologies with data visualization methods to extract value from data sets
- Think critically about the business implications, meaningfulness and applicability of observed data patterns and analytical inferences
- Identify opportunities, needs and constraints for data analytics within organizational contexts
- Select appropriate analytic tools for specific managerial issues
- Demonstrate proficiency with several data-analytic tools
- Communicate clearly and persuasively to audiences with stories
