Economics, Financial Economics Concentration, MA

Students study domestic and international financial markets, as well as the principles for financial decisions by bankers, investment managers, and corporate financial managers.

Major Requirements (33 units)


Exams


All students must pass the master’s comprehensive exams in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. The comprehensive exams are offered in the first weeks of both the fall and spring semesters.

Financial Economics Concentration Requirements


Financial Economics Electives (12 units)


Complete 12 units in ECON 600:699. Students have the option to design (in conjunction with the graduate adviser) their own elective course work.

A maximum of two of these courses may be met by MBA courses when approved by the Economics graduate adviser.
