The Engineering major provides a broad education in engineering thinking and design, with opportunities for hands-on, project-based learning with rich and real contexts. Students will develop leadership and communication skills, ethical awareness, a diverse perspective, and practical skills. This program has been designed in direct response to industry leaders and professionals who have identified a need for young engineers with these attributes.
After two years of foundational coursework in a community-building cohort environment, students declare one of two concentration areas to develop breadth and depth of knowledge: Electrical Engineering Concentration and Sustainable Environments Engineering. With these developing skills, students work together in mixed teams with community partners on problems that have immediate and real value, culminating in a year-long capstone project.
