BSPH 433 - Community Health Practice Unit(s): 4
This course provides an overview of concepts, research, and practice in community health. Students review the social construction of illness, social and behavioral determinants of health, and health disparities. Students learn the principles of program planning, including assessment of community health priorities and resources; design and implementation of evidence-based interventions; and evaluation of programs. Community organizing, community-based participatory research, and cultural humility will be explored through case studies.
Prerequisite: BSPH 201 with a minimum grade of C and BSPH 202 with a minimum grade of C Restriction: Major Restricted to Public Health School Nursing & Health Professions
