BSPH 421 - Introduction to Epidemiology Unit(s): 4
Epidemiology is the study of the distribution and determinants of health and disease in populations. Students will learn principles and methods to describe and understand the distribution of disease in a population. Topics include descriptive epidemiology, methods for measuring the distribution of risk factors and health outcomes, epidemiologic study design, and the analysis and interpretation of epidemiologic data. Understanding disease patterns is critical to developing effective public health interventions.
Prerequisite: BSPH 201 with a minimum grade of C and BSPH 202 with a minimum grade of C Restriction: Major Restricted to Public Health School Nursing & Health Professions
