DANC 116 - Ballroom, Latin & Swing Unit(s): 1 to 2
This beginner-level course introduces students to a variety of social dance forms. Students will learn steps, body alignment, and partnering skills, with attention to the coordination of head, arms, torso, and feet. Styles may include salsa, bachata, samba, merengue, mambo, cha-cha, tango, waltz, and swing. Students will develop an understanding of the cultural and historical contexts of these dance styles while gaining confidence in social dance settings. No prior dance experience required.
