MATH 102 - Biostatistics Unit(s): 4
This course, required of biology majors, is a survey of statistical concepts and methods, with an emphasis on concepts critical to the life sciences. Topics include design of experiments; measurement; summary and presentation of data; regression and correlation; elementary probability; the normal, binomial, t-, and chi-square distributions; confidence intervals and standard error; and hypothesis testing.
Prerequisite: Math Diagnostic Test with a minimum score of 61 or MATH 104 with a minimum grade of C- or SAT Mathematics with a minimum score of 460 or ACT Math with a minimum score of 19 or S16 MATH SECTION SCORE with a minimum score of 500 or Placement-Mathematics with a minimum score of 12 College of Arts & Sciences
