BUS 477 - Family Business Academic Global Immersion Unit(s): 4
The Family Business AGI course is one of the School of Managements Entrepreneurship & Innovation Program family business offerings. The class leverages a multi-university cohort model to introduce students to general and international family business theories and extends theory-to-practice through a combination of coursework and immersion experiences with students and family businesses located in another part of the world. Course elements include 24 USF blended asynchronous and synchronous, on-site and remote hours of preliminary instruction and research during the spring semester, coupled with an eight-day Spring Break visit to an international partner university’s location, centered on three family businesses and a rich schedule of cultural and social events. The course concludes with a four-hour session designed to allow all students in the cohort to demonstrate their synthesis and mastery of the theoretical and applied course elements through the presentations of family business case studies and reflections.
