ART 365 - Community Engaged Design Unit(s): 4
This Community-Engaged Learning course gives students the opportunity to design with community partner organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area on real world projects connected to social justice issues. Following a Design Thinking framework, students begin by empathizing with and understanding underlying root causes faced by individual stakeholders, community partners, and larger societal structures. Working collaboratively with classmates, community partners, and constituents, students define the design problems, ideate solutions, build prototypes to test, make revisions and present final outcomes for implementation in the community.
Prerequisite: ART 155 with a minimum grade of C- and (ART 175 with a minimum grade of C- or ART 272 with a minimum grade C-) Restriction: Field of Study Restricted to Design College of Arts & Sciences
