CLS 101 - Latinxs & Education II

This is the second of two required courses for all students in the Casa Madriz Living Learning Community. The course uses the theme of ‘Latinxs & Education’ in order to engage first-year students in a classroom experience that maps your individual educational journeys onto a historical and contemporary analysis of the relationship between the U.S. Educational System and Latinx communities. Topics covered include: segregation of Latinx students in US schools, Latinx history of student resistance, the fight for Ethnic/Latinx/Chicanx Studies, Latinx students and barriers to higher education.
