Work & Well-Being Research Course
In this experiential course students are members of USFs Work + Well-Being Learning Lab. As members of the lab, we learn and practice the fundamentals of conducting high-quality research by examining workers well-being. In the first part of the course, our journey begins with developing socially, practical, and scientifically meaningful research questions that can advance our understanding of how we can improve workers physical and mental health. We then together cultivate the knowledge and skills necessary to design qualitative and quantitative studies to investigate these critical questions. In the second part of the course, we launch our research studies. This involves working individually and in groups to collect data, conduct analyses, and identify key findings. The course will also include guest speakers and regular mentoring sessions. Our experience culminates in a research showcase to an audience of students, faculty, staff, business leaders, and community members.
