SII 205 - The Battle for Middle Earth Unit(s): 4
J.R.R. Tolkien’s ‘Middle Earth’ is both a pre-Christian world and one that is thoroughly informed by Tolkien’s Catholic imagination. Reading selections from Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and Peter Jackson’s films, students explore the role of mythology as an entry point for exploring the universal Christian themes.
