ENGR 203 - Engineering Computation I

Unit(s): 2

This course is a companion course to ENGR 201. The two courses introduce students to theoretical and applied concepts of systems modeling through differential equations and numerical methods. In this course, students use computational tools and programming with Python to represent, quantify and predict the behavior of dynamic systems using differential equations. Students learn to represent systems via systems diagrams, and mathematical equations and then learn how to solve these equations with numerical. The course emphasizes the role of modeling in engineering as a method of designing systems and the elements of proper technical reporting of quantitative information in computational modeling and engineering.

Prerequisite: MATH 109 and MATH 110 and (ENGR 102 or CS 110)
Corequisite: ENGR-201
