SPAN 102M - Modifed Second Sem. Spanish

The second of a two-semester sequence designed for students with longstanding difficulties learning a foreign language and/or with official documentation from Student Disability Services (SDS). Includes the same overall scope and sequence as the other Second Semester Spanish course but employs a multisensory, highly structured and metacognitive approach with explicit phonetic and grammar explanations and consistent repetition and review. While continuing to develop communication and basic language skills, students learn additional techniques and strategies to learn a language, identify personal learning styles and strengths and discover how to manage language learning in accordance with individual learning differences. Note: This course includes a mandatory one-hour weekly group conversation class with a tutor for nine weeks of the semester outside of the class meeting time. The schedule will be determined after the course begins.
