In this class, we explore the intersecting role of religion and politics play in the decisions people around the world make to leave their countries of origin, the human rights issues that arise during the migration process, and the challenges faced when immigrants reach a destination. We analyze numerous facets of immigration, focusing on immigrant rights, the history of migration to San Francisco, and the role that religious groups play in global migration.
