MPH 670 - Health Education and Promotion Planning

Health Education and Program Planning is the first course in a 3-part series of health promotion labs (MPH 670, MPH 671A, and MPH 671B) that is a service learning collaboration between the MPH Behavioral Health concentration and USF Health Promotion Services. In this foundational course students will develop and apply skills to design, deliver, and market health promotion workshops, one-on-one peer health education, health promotion outreach events, and other wellness activities that will be implemented in MPH 671A and 671B to promote the health and wellbeing of USF students. Upon completion of this course, students will be certified as peer educators that are prepared to promote health awareness, behavioral change, disease prevention, and wellness among USF students, with a focus on access to healthcare, general nutrition, physical education, stress management, tobacco use, alcohol and other substances, and suicide prevention.
