PASJ 380 - Performance/Community Exchange Unit(s): 4
In this course students build theoretical and practical understanding of creative performance practices within community-engaged projects. The course collaborates with communities on the frontlines of our nation’s most pressing issues. Semester to semester, the social justice issues and the community that forms the artistic collaboration change based on the lead teacher’s artistic activism. The course encompasses forms of making knowledge about, for, and with diverse communities while co-creating performances to facilitate dialogue across differences, amplifying under-heard voices, and striving to build coalitions for change.
