MS 302 - Communication for Change Unit(s): 4
The class combines academic study and community engagement around the strategic use of communications and media for social change. Students study historical and contemporary examples of strategic communication and media use in social justice movements such as civil rights, women’s liberation, gay rights, Occupy, #MeToo, and #BLM. All students also spend a minimum of 40 hours or equivalent project time working with a social change group over the semester.
