MPH 622 - Health Behavior Theory and Communication Unit(s): 3 or 4
This core course provides a practical introduction to the contribution of social and behavioral sciences to understanding and addressing public health problems. Health behavior theories and models used for interventions to promote health in individuals, groups, and communities will be examined including their application in creating, communicating, and advocating for social change. Students will build skills in applying principles of effective health communication to design and evaluate health behavior and social change programs for specific audiences and sectors.
