In this course, we critically examine the historical and contemporary experiences of various peoples of Hawaii. We focus on the ways peoples come to see, know, enact, and practice individual and collective senses of self that are both structurally and self-defined along the axes of race/ethnicity, culture, history, gender, class, land, and residence.
