ART 200 - Museum Studies Unit(s): 4
This course presents the historical development of museums, their collection, exhibition and education functions, administration, physical facilities, fundraising, and ethics. Particular attention is given to issues of diversity and multiculturalism; relationship of museums to changing populations and disciplinary trends; and examination of diverse types of collections. Students collaboratively curate a small, public exhibition and learn professional skills relevant to careers in museums of all sorts (e.g., art, history, culturally specific, science etc.).
Restriction: Field of Study restricted to Museum Studies, Art History & Museum Studies Major, Museum Studies Minor College of Arts and Sciences
