MPH 681 - Applied Practice Experience 1

This practicum course requires that students have a planned, supervised, and evaluated practice experience working in partnership with an agency. The goal of this experience is to enrich students’ educational training in public health by providing an opportunity to apply theory and skills acquired from their coursework to public health practice, policy, and/or research. Placement sites include, but are not exclusive to: community-based organizations; clinical, research, and school based settings; and federal, state, local and/or international public health agencies and organizations. Students contribute to an agency’s mission/ resources and to the solution of public health problems while developing personal confidence and leadership skills as a public health professional working in interprofessional and inter-cultural teams.
