NURS 637 - Pediatric Nursing Unit(s): 2
This course emphasizes the need for professional nursing intervention in the optimal child development and management of disease. The course builds on previous knowledge of pharmacology, and pathophysiology. Emphasis will be placed on the principles of physiological, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual diversity from birth through adolescence as they affect the perception, management and coping skills of children and families. The clinical nurse leader role will be seen as integral to the case management and supervision of children and families as they cope with the physical and psychological demands of illness.
