HS 608 - Computer Science for Health Informatics Professionals

In this course students will systematically learn concepts, problem-solving, and coding skills, then will be guided as they apply these to challenging health datasets. Students will develop the Python skills currently employed in health data analytics, as well as in-demand SQL and Unix skills. Students will be prepared to work with databases and large datasets such as EHR (electronic health records), genomic, or wearable data. They will learn best practices in coding and apply them in performing machine learning and predictive analytics. No previous exposure to coding is assumed
