Major Requirements (56 units)
Required (20 units)
Students must complete 20 units of required environmental science courses that build the foundational basis for the degree and also a capstone course for the culmination of the degree.
Students must complete 20 units of support courses in the biological, chemical, physical, and analytical sciences to provide a solid foundation for their understanding of environmental science principles.
Biology (8 units)
Students must complete 8 units of general biology in support of their degree.
Students must complete 8 units of general chemistry in support of their degree. It is preferable that students complete the General Chemistry for Engineers and Scientists sequence (Chem-150 and 151). Alternatively they may complete the General Chemistry sequence (Chem-111, 112, 113, and 114).
Students must complete 16 units of upper division courses (at least 12 units of which must be in Environmental Science) to provide breadth to their degree.
Students may select 12-16 units of upper division Environmental Science courses to apply to their degree.
