Management, BAM


Designed for working professionals seeking to complete their unfinished bachelor’s degree, the University of San Francisco offers a Bachelor of Arts in Management (BAM). Students learn to balance theory and practice to become effective managers, whether employed in private, public, or nonprofit sectors.

Program Learning Competencies


  • Demonstrate interpersonal communication proficiency - reflective of written, oral, and listening skills - to effectively collaborate with others.
  • Integrate functional management knowledge pertinent to leading and managing in the nonprofit, public, and private sectors.
  • Apply critical, ethical, and socially-responsible thinking when problem-solving and developing sound decisions.

Major Requirements (44 units)


Students in the Bachelor of Arts in Management program take 44 units of upper-division management coursework for the major, in addition to the required University Core Curriculum. General electives may be taken from various areas of interest to reach the minimum 128 units required to graduate.

BAM Electives (6 units)


BAM electives will focus on topics relevant to the three sectors - public, nonprofit or private.  Examples of possible electives include: Professional/Organization Communication; Negotiation & Conflict Resolution; Costing Organizational Initiatives; Organizational Social Responsibility; Issues in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Data Visualization; Organization Law.
