Environmental Science Minor

The minor in Environmental Science is designed for students who wish to prepare for a possible career in the environmental sciences.
|
Program Learning Outcomes
Students who complete the minor requirements in ENVS will be able to:
- Demonstrate and communicate an understanding of basic concepts in Environmental Science.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the interdisciplinary nature and complexities of key environmental issues.
- Develop skills in applying the scientific method to environmental issues.
Required Courses (20 units)
5 courses (20 units) are required
- 1-Introductory course (100 level)
- 1-foundational course (200 level)
- 2-depth courses (300 or 400 level)
- 1 elective (100, 200, 300, 400 level)
A maximum of 4 units of overlap is allowed with
- Supporting science courses (BIOL, CHEM, etc.)
- An environmental certificate program (GIS)
- Environmental courses beyond the natural sciences (ENVA, BAIS, etc.)
- Other environmental courses in a student’s major
Introductory Course (4 units, 100-level) (Core-B2)

Foundational Course (4 units, 200-level)
Choose one of the following foundational courses with lab:
Depth Courses (8 units, 300- or 400-level)
Choose two of the following Depth Courses (some of which include a lab).
