Major Requirements (30 Units)
The 30-unit program consists of 3 required courses (2 units each), a master’s project (typically 4 units), and 10 electives (2 units each). Students typically take four courses per semester, and one elective and a Master’s Project in the final semester. Students wishing to take additional electives have the option to take the Master’s Project course for fewer units although the project expectations remain unchanged.
Students can choose to concentrate in following areas:
Students develop their master’s project as an in-depth study of an environmental issue in their area of interest. The project hones the skills essential to environmental management: problem identification and definition; review, organization and analysis of relevant literature and research; and presentation of justifiable recommendations.
