2020-2021 Catalog [ARCHIVED CATALOG]
Performing Arts and Social Justice, Music Concentration, Major
As the first and only undergraduate program of its kind in the U.S., the Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts and Social Justice (PASJ), with concentrations in Dance, Music and Theater, combines studio work, seminars, and lectures to teach students about diverse cultures, approaches to arts-activism, and arts management. We collaborate with locally based and internationally recognized artists, so that students learn first hand what it means to be a working artist who uses their craft in the cause of social justice. We strive to achieve academic and artistic excellence in the classroom, on stage, and in the community, offering students professional preparation for a variety of careers in the performing arts, as well as for further study, while working towards a more humane and just society.
