Biology Minor

The Biology minor provides an opportunity for students in programs outside of the Biology Major to complement their studies with a concentration in biology. Students experience the breadth of biology by taking general biology, cell physiology, genetics and ecology.

Program Learning Outcomes
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of the building blocks of life, fundamentals of cells and the foundational theories of biology.
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of organismal form, function, and diversity.
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of cellular structure and interactions necessary for the maintenance and reproduction of life.
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of the principles of genetics, evolution and ecology.
- Students will discuss and critically review biological scientific papers.
Minor Requirements (20 Units)
To complete the minor students must take General Biology I with a lab, General Biology II with a lab, Cell Physiology, Genetics with a lab and Ecology. |
