Asian Studies Minor

Program Learning Outcomes
Students will:
- Basic Literacy: Students will be able to articulate several fundamental issues and themes relevant to the study of Asia.
- Analytical Acumen: Students will be able to engage in an analytical project focused on a specific region or sub-region of Asia, using appropriate disciplinary tools or methods and also some material written in an Asian language.
- Social Responsibility: Students will be able to identify several issues of social justice (such as human rights, environmental sustainability and ethical considerations) that affect people and policy within Asian societies.
- Integrative Synthesis: Students will be able to synthetically apply analytical skills drawn from at least two disciplines to the study of specific examples drawn from Asian cultures, histories, or politics.
Minor Requirements (20 Units)
The minor can be completed in two years; however, it will not be awarded until the student has completed the Bachelor’s degree program. Required Course (4 Units)
