NURS 323 - MedSurg II- Comp Adult Care Unit(s): 4
This didactic course builds competencies in evidence-based medical-surgical nursing care for management of comprehensive adult patient care. Students integrate comprehensive knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology, and nursing interventions while prioritizing person-centered care across diverse populations. The course emphasizes clinical reasoning, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure safe, effective patient outcomes. Through application of Jesuit values, particularly cura personalis and men and women for others, students develop professional identity and ethical decision-making skills. Learning experiences include simulation and case-based scenarios focusing on comprehensive care management.
Prerequisite: NURS 271 with a minimum grade of C and NURS 273 with a minimum grade of C and NURS 274 with a minimum grade of C and NURS 275 with a minimum grade of S Corequisite: NURS328, NURS324, NURS326 Restriction: Major Restricted to Nursing; Level restricted to Undergraduate; College restricted to Sch of Nursing and Health Prof School Nursing & Health Professions
