NURS 273 - Pop Health I Unit(s): 2
This didactic course integrates nursing disciplinary knowledge and foundations of nursing practice related to Population Health throughout the lifespan. Learners will examine principles of public health, epidemiology, environmental health, health policy, and social determinants influencing individual and population wellbeing. The course builds on concepts of health, wellness, and integrative care, emphasizing comprehensive holistic nursing assessment of populations in the prevention and management of common acute conditions. Learners analyze and apply evidence-based community health strategies for population-level health promotion, disease prevention, and management of acute conditions.
Prerequisite: NURS 220 with a minimum grade of C and NURS 223 with a minimum grade of C and NURS 224 with a minimum grade of C and NURS 228 with a minimum grade of S Corequisite: NURS271, NURS274, NURS275 Restriction: Major Restricted to Nursing; Level restricted to Undergraduate; College restricted to Sch of Nursing and Health Prof School Nursing & Health Professions
