NURS 224 - Nursing Fundamentals: Health & Wellness Unit(s): 3
This didactic course introduces the fundamental knowledge and skills required for patient-centered care, focusing on the nursing process, supporting activities of daily living and wellness. Students will integrate concepts of nutrition, pharmacology, and biopsychosocial sciences to perform holistic assessments and plan interventions aimed at health promotion and disease prevention. Grounded in the Jesuit value of Cura Personalis–care for the whole person–this course emphasizes cultural humility, ethical, and collaborative care that addresses physical, psychological, and spiritual needs. Through evidence-based, immersive learning activities, students will gain the knowledge and skills to develop clinical judgment and foster therapeutic relationships to promote optimal health and wellness.
Corequisite: NURS-220; NURS-223; NURS-228 School of Nursing and Health Professions
