NURS 223 - Health Promotion & Integrative Care Unit(s): 2
This didactic course introduces nursing disciplinary knowledge and practical foundations of nursing practices around the concepts of health, nutrition, wellness, and integrative care throughout the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on comprehensive holistic nursing assessment of populations, evidence-based health promotion strategies, wellness approaches, and integrative care modalities. The course integrates key concepts from Caritas Science Processes, reflective practices, essentials of self-care, and therapeutic communication in the development of professional nursing practice and identity. Learners will develop cultural humility skills while exploring diverse approaches to health and healing across populations.
