COMS 202 - Communication and Advocacy

Unit(s): 4

In this course, you’ll explore how people use words, images, and stories to change the world–and how you can too. We’ll read powerful texts, but we’ll also look at music, memes, speeches, and social media to see how advocacy happens every day. You’ll build your skills in speaking, writing, and critical thinking–all with support, feedback, and space to grow. Students will examine how literature, philosophy, theology, and the arts have functioned not only as reflections of society but as acts of advocacy–challenging norms, amplifying marginalized voices, and inspiring social change.
