CHEM 150 - Gen Chem 1 for Eng and Sci Unit(s): 4
This course introduces fundamental principles of modern chemistry with an emphasis on materials and environmental applications and is designed for non-chemistry majors. Topics include atomic and molecular structure, periodicity, chemical bonding and reactions, crystalline solids, bulk and nanomaterials, chemical equilibrium, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and nuclear chemistry. Students also engage in designing and executing laboratory experiments that reinforce modern chemistry concepts introduced in lecture.
Corequisite: CHEM-150L College of Arts and Sciences
