This skills course examines the strategy, tactics, and methods of social movements, particularly regarding the application of civil resistance campaigns in movements for democracy, social justice, and related struggles, both in the United States and internationally. Students learn and workshop skills useful to better understand organizing and movement-building through participatory exercises and other methods. Such skills are relevant for careers in advocacy groups, political campaigns, and certain kinds of NGOs.
