MAIS 638 - Emerging Powers

This course provides students with a theoretical toolkit emanating from mainstream and critical approaches to International Relations (IR), and empirical knowledge of rising powers in international affairs towards making sense of our increasingly post-Western world. All major world regions are covered, with specific attention to (re)emerging powers like China, Russia, India, Iran, Turkey, South Africa and Brazil.
