This class will provide a stimulating tour through world labor history, with particular emphasis on the current reality of work and city life in the early 21st century. The course emphasizes organizing strategies and particularly focuses on the relationship between labor and community organizing: how does bridging these two strands of political organizing create new forms of community power?
