UPA 660 - The Politics of Public Policy Unit(s): 4
This course examines the political and communications strategies as well as inter-personal tactics that legislative leaders employ in order to assemble winning legislative coalitions on issues of wide-reaching social importance. Additional attention is devoted to the question of what it means to be a leader in both a legislative and social-impact setting. The course examines political strategy, framing and media, leadership, effective advocacy and challenges associated with legislative coalition building.
