MPH 643 - Advanced Data Analysis

The increasing volume of public health data and need for evidence-based decisions requires a workforce with knowledge and skills in data management and analysis to address public health issues. This course provides an accessible introduction to intermediate/advanced data analysis methods and epidemiology concepts used in real-world public health settings. During this course, students will gain intermediate/advanced skills that will allow them to manage a dataset, design a data analysis plan, analyze data using statistical software, interpret, and disseminate results using a “hands-on” public health project. This course builds on previous knowledge and skills learned in biostatistics and epidemiology classes. This course is essential for any student who is interested a public health career as a data analyst or epidemiologist.


Prerequisite: MPH 612 and MPH 621
Restriction: Degree restricted to Master of Public Health
