NURS 676 - Health Policy Ethics & Advocacy Unit(s): 3
This course focusses on the values, professional codes and ethical principles that govern the practice of nurse leaders. Emphasis is placed on the knowledge, skills, and obligations of the system leader including interprofessional collaboration in healthcare planning, ethics, and responsibility for patient outcomes. Content on the critical analysis of bioethical issues and the resolution of ethical dilemmas in the delivery of population healthcare services is provided. Advocacy for social justice, reducing healthcare disparities, improving quality of life, cost containment, national and international healthcare policy development or revision are discussed.
