THTR 215 - Lighting Design Unit(s): 2
This course, open to students with or without experience, covers techniques and theory for the lighting of staged performance. Class explores how a play or composition drives the designer’s creative process; the place of lighting in creating the overall ‘production values’ of a performance; the importance of collaboration with directors, set, costume, and sound designers; an introduction to the creation of a light plot and renderings; and basic color and light theory.
