O&L 630 - Educ. Lead. for Social Justice Unit(s): 3
This course examines the ways in which educational leadership can be enacted as a critical form of social justice. Using research and theory from education, the social sciences, and knowledge based on effective practices, students will examine various aspects of the daily work of school leaders, the characters of effective schools, and communal legacies of resistance efforts for social justice. Special attention will be given to how school leaders can lead, manage programs, and shape school culture. The course also addresses how leaders navigate district and state systems to provide their students and staff with the necessary resources to address the needs of the school community.
